CHS Jewish Federation hosts candidate forum | News
The Charleston Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) will be hosting an SC-1 Congressional Candidate Forum for the community on Aug. 22 at Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue in Downtown Charleston, starting at 7 p.m. The Thursday evening affair will feature Rep. Nancy Mace and Michael B. Moore, candidates for the Congressional seat, with both confirmed as attending. Carolyn Murray of WCBD News will serve as moderator. Tickets are free, but limited and can be reserved at bit.ly/macemooreforum. The registration form includes a field to submit questions for the candidates. All in-person attendees will be required to pass through a security checkpoint upon arrival. Media and members of the public are welcome, but we’ll ask cameras to remain in the lobby area of the synagogue.
The Charleston Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council is committed to promoting civic engagement and modeling civil discourse. Throughout our organization’s history, we’ve created a tradition of bringing together candidates for elected office for discussions about issues of concern to the Charleston-area Jewish community and our neighbors. This event represents a continuation of that tradition.
