Tim Curry Makes His Return To The Big Screen in The Horror Movie STREAM — GeekTyrant
We recently shared a trailer for the crazy and unhinged-looking horror movie Stream, and we are now learning that iconic actor Tim Curry makes his return to the big screen in the movie!
This will be Curry’s first feature film role since the 2010 comedy Burke & Hare. Over the years he has worked on many animated projects as a voice actor, and he also appeared in Fox’s 2016 television film remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The writer and director of Stream, Michael Leavy, said working with Curry was a dream come true for him. He said: “This has been a really hard secret to keep and contain our excitement, especially for this long.
“We are so happy and thrilled to bring Tim back to the movies and back to the big screen! His charm always radiates and shines through everything he does and we are so honored to have him a part of ‘Stream’!
“He is someone I have idolized personally growing up and it is one of the major highlights of my life getting to work with him, especially on a project that means so much to me.
“We can’t wait for fans to sit back and enjoy our movie in theaters and hopefully with a huge crowd having a blast together! This is the way horror films are meant to be seen and enjoyed. ‘Stream’ is here to entertain!”
It’s pretty awesome that Curry has come back for a film project like this. We don’t have any details on his character, but it’ll be fun to see him in the movies again!
Stream follows “a family trying to survive after their hotel is overtaken by murderers who are competing to be the most creative killer.”
Leavy previously said: “Stream is a modernized slasher made by horror fans for horror fans and we are extremely excited and honored to be bringing this movie to the big screen for audiences to enjoy together.
“We have an incredible cast of genre greats who deliver stellar performances, and of course having ‘Terrifier’s’ Damien Leone and Phil Falcone heading the gore FX we made sure we delivered the goods for our incredible fanbase, but something we are most proud of is its story and arching character development.
“We have no studio backing, so to put this release in the hands of our fans is something that truly excites us! They came out in droves for Terrifier 2 and that was so important for its success. So hopefully they will do it again for ‘Stream.’
“This way we can show the studios why indie horror is so important for the genre in paving the way for creating new, fresh and original content that we all crave so much nowadays.”
The film stars David Howard Thornton, who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier films, as well as Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Danielle Harris (Halloween 4) and Tony Todd (Candyman).
Stream will be released in theaters this week on August 21st.
