A housing lottery launched this week for 171 middle-income apartments at a 50-story building in Fort Greene. Located at 180 Ashland Place, the Everly has over 560 apartments and impressive amenities, like a rooftop pool with stunning Manhattan views, and a prime location, steps from Fort Greene Park and the convenience of Downtown Brooklyn. New Yorkers earning 80 and 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, priced from $1,793/month studios to $4,399/month two bedrooms.

Developed by Rockrose Development and designed by SLCE Architects, the Everly, alternatively addressed as 98 DeKalb Avenue, has 569 apartments with a little over 3,000 square feet of commercial space.

Apartments feature floor-to-ceiling windows with solar shades, in-unit washer and dryers, and high-end kitchen and bathrooms.

Amenities take up two full floors. The “Sky Lounge” features an outdoor pool, sundeck with a hot tub, a game loft with bocce and foosball, a workspace solarium, an overlook, and a party room. The “Clubhouse” is home to the fitness center with a yoga studio, a game den, a fireside lounge, multi-sport simulators, a dog run, a great lawn with a movie screen, a terrace with grills, and a content creators studio and workshop.

The Everly is in a transit-rich area near many subway lines, bus routes, and the Long Island Rail Road at Atlantic Terminal. Residents are also steps from the neighborhood’s many entertainment, retail, and dining destinations, including the Brooklyn Paramount, Barclays Center, BAM, and more.

Current availability for market-rate units at the Everly starts at $3,099/month for a studio, $4,540/month for a one-bedroom, and $6,287/month for a two-bedroom, according to the building’s website.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the apartments until October 28, 2025. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Preference for 20 percent of the units is given to residents of Brooklyn Community District 2.
