Realme shares more details on the GT 8 Pro’s Ricoh-tuned camera


Realme is set to unveil its GT 8 series later this month, and the GT 8 Pro will be the first smartphone to feature a custom Ricoh Imaging tuning as part of the newly formed Realme x Ricoh Imaging partnership effort. The two brands will host a dedicated event tomorrow, where they will provide more details on their collaborative efforts, but we have some new info ahead of the keynote.

Ricoh to power Realme GT 8 Pro's imaging

Intuitive Algorithm Engine, which aims to eliminate common smartphone photography faults like over-sharpening, over-saturation, and over-smearing. Realme also shared that you can expect RAW-level pixel processing for maximum image data, full 10-bit color depth, and ultra-sense HDR for natural light and shadow balance.

We also get confirmation that the GT 8 Pro will be compatible with Ricoh GR’s full-frame equivalent focal lengths of 28mm and 40mm.

The camera setup will reportedly feature 7P anti-glare lens film with ultra-low reflection coating and up to 97% light transmittance.

GT 8 Pro will feature Ricoh GR’s iconic photography tones. These include five options – Positive, Negative, High-contrast Black & White, Standard, and Monochrome.

In addition, Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a Ricoh GR series-inspired immersive viewfinder mode that hides all camera UI elements, leaving just a framing box for a more traditional camera experience.

Based on a previous leak, Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a 50MP main camera armed with a 1/1.5″ type LYT-70 sensor alongside a 200MP (ISOCELL HP5) periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
