A new 12-story rental building in Chelsea just opened a lottery for 28 mixed-income apartments. Replacing a Rite Aid, The Andrea sits at the corner of 24th Street and 8th Avenue. New Yorkers earning 40, 60, and 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, priced from $978/month studios to $4,376/month two bedrooms.

Developed by the Red Apple Group and designed by SLCE Architects, the building contains 104 residences, according to CityRealty.
Tenants have access to a range of high-quality indoor and outdoor amenities, including a residents’ lounge with terrace access, a co-working space, and a landscaped rooftop with barbecues and dining areas.
Additional features include concierge service, a fitness center, private storage, and bike storage lockers, according to CityRealty. The building is also pet-friendly, allowing one pet per unit with no deposit required.
Residences come with high-end, energy-efficient kitchen appliances, warm oak accents, premium countertops, air conditioning, dishwashers, and in-unit washers and dryers.
Kitchens feature custom millwork, LED undercounter lighting, and Beko and Blomberg appliances, while bathrooms are finished with custom vanities and wall-to-ceiling porcelain tile, according to the building’s website.
The Andrea sits near the C, E, and 1 subway lines and several bus routes. It is also just a few blocks from Penn Station, with access to Amtrak, NJ Transit, and LIRR.
