BRAND NEW DAY — GeekTyrant

This was a big week for Marvel fans, as the studio finally released the first full trailer for the long-awaited event film Avengers: Doomsday.
Not only was it an exciting real first look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, but it gave us a better sense of the story, the team-ups and battles, and it broke some big records for Disney, and trailer views in general.
In just the first 24 hours, the trailer was viewed a staggering 503 million times. That ranks as the second-biggest movie trailer launch of all time, behind Sony’s upcoming Marvel adventure Spider-Man: Brand New Day with 719 million views.
And it’s Disney’s most-viewed trailer in history, beating out the studio’s 2024 superhero epic Deadpool & Wolverine Super Bowl teaser with 365 million views, including the broadcast.
Disney and Marvel Studios kicked off the Avengers: Doomsday marketing last December with the launch of four teaser trailers. The official trailer launched July 20, several days ahead of Marvel’s Comic-Con presentation where the latest Avengers tentpole is expected to have a major presence.
Stay tuned for updates this week as Marvel swoops into San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon. Their news should help to hold you over until Doomsday is released in theaters on December 18th.
