Meta announced the latest round of feature updates for its Edits video editing app, which it continues update almost weekly, making it an increasingly valuable tool for video editing and creation.

Edits update

First, Meta updated Edits’ project folders, making it easier to manage various in-progress video concepts.

Users can now long-press on a project to move it around, allowing them to reorder the listing of their folders and prioritize their workflow.

U.S. users can also access a new option that will convert any still image into a video clip using conversational prompts.

As shown in the second image above, users will be able to describe the action they want to see within an image, and Meta’s artificial intelligence system will animate the photo or picture in line with that request.

Users can also bookmark text and captions styles from a project: “Tap the bookmark icon on the text frame to save your favorite text and caption styles without leaving your canvas,” Meta said in an Instagram post.

Saving the exact text display for re-use could be a handy way to maintain consistency across projects.

Edits also shared a new overview of its evolving bilingual caption options, as well as other text display tools. The app also added a new way to search for audio clips “based on vibes, such as chill or bossy, and interests, such as fashion and travel.”

Edits will also allow users to create multiple versions of a project and build richer templates, including overlay support and the ability to lock specific clips in place.
