Indiana Jones Hunts the Infinity Gauntlet and Marvel’s Most Powerful Artifacts and Marvel Comics Art — GeekTyrant

Indiana Jones has embarked on adventures chasing the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, Sankara Stones, Crystal Skulls, and plenty of other treasures that probably belong somewhere safer than the places he finds them. His next hunt, however, is sending him after some seriously dangerous Marvel hardware.

Indiana Jones is returning to Marvel Comics, and Marvel is celebrating with a collection of variant covers that puts Indy on the trail of some of the most powerful artifacts in the Marvel Universe.

The Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts Covers feature the archaeologist hunting everything from the Infinity Gauntlet to Mjolnir, which feels like exactly the kind of assignment that could ruin his week.

Artists Iban Coello, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar, Carmen Carnero, and Marco Checchetto are contributing artwork to the collection, imagining what happens when Jones’ obsession with ancient and mysterious objects collides with Marvel mythology.

Among the treasures Indy is pursuing is the Infinity Gauntlet, the cosmic weapon famously wielded by Thanos. He’s also searching for Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, Knull’s All-Black the Necrosword, Doctor Doom’s legendary mask, and the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, the mystical artifact responsible for transforming Cain Marko into Juggernaut.

The covers are part of a larger Indiana Jones revival at Marvel, which also includes the return of some classic comics. Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Book II are getting hardcover reprints scheduled for October 2026.

Those collections will bring back the 1980s material and include comic adaptations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. They’ll also collect The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, which sent the character on new adventures beyond the films.

Marvel will follow those releases with a facsimile edition of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1 in November 2026, giving fans another chance to pick up the beginning of Indy’s original Marvel comic adventures.

The artifact covers are ultimately leading into something even bigger: a new era of Indiana Jones comics from Marvel.

The new series will kick off in February 2027 with Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Aaron Kuder. The story takes place after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and brings Indy back into comic book territory with a fresh adventure.

Indiana Jones has spent decades hunting objects with supernatural histories, so tossing things like the Infinity Gauntlet, Mjolnir, Doom’s mask, and the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak into his path makes for some awesome cover concepts.

The question is, what would Indy do if he actually managed to get his hands on this stuff?
