A new skyscraper in Long Island City opened a lottery for over 100 mixed-income apartments last week. Located at 26-32 Jackson Avenue in the neighborhood’s Court Square section, The Italic sits across from its sister building The Bold, keeping with the typeface theme. The rental buildings were jointly developed by Fenter Group and Lions Group and designed by SLCE. The Italic is the taller of the two at 49 stories and contains over 360 apartments. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 70, 90, 120, and 125 percent of the area median income can apply for the apartments, priced from $1,548/month studios to $4,173/month three-bedrooms.

The Italic, which has an alternative address of 26-38 Jackson Avenue, offers high-end finishes and appliances, including in-unit washer-dryers, flexible floorplans, and keyless entry. Amenities include a fitness center, lounge, co-working space, pet spa, and storage.

The apartments, which are rent-stabilized, will be available for occupancy this spring.

The Bold rises 28 stories at 27-01 Jackson Avenue. The rental launched leasing for its 164 apartments last summer; 50 of the apartments are designated as affordable. Pricing for the market-rate units starts at $3,835/month for a studio.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the apartments until April 21, 2025. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Preference for 20 percent of the units will be given to residents of Queens Community District 2.

Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
