Last month, a report claimed the Xiaomi Tag was in development, basically intended to be the Chinese company’s version of Apple’s AirTag and Motorola’s Moto Tag.
If you’ve been wondering what it would look like, today’s leak sheds some light on just that. Buried in code for Xiaomi’s HyperOS Android skin are references to it, as well as images and a video.

As you can see, it has an oval shape. The code has also revealed that the Xiaomi Tag will come with a CR2032 coin-style battery, just like Samsung’s Galaxy Smart Tags.
There will be two models of the Xiaomi Tag, one with UWB support, one without (the latter presumably being cheaper as a consequence). Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Tag may only be available in China, at least initially.
