Chicago Fire – Thank You

I really loved the format of this final episode of the season, the flicking back and forth between timelines made it an incredibly interesting watch. The last sequence of the episode where we saw the 51 crew in the fire and then scenes of Trudy, Cindy, Chloe and Isaiah tied the episode together so well.
I adored Mouch’s storyline this episode. The call back to the book he wrote with Brett back in season 5 being brought back up was very welcome. I don’t know where that storyline will go in the next season but I do hope it allows for Brett and possibly Casey to return to 51. I also very much appreciated the actual time frame since season 5 aired being used as a reference to when Mouch sent it in.
The Herrmann’s are truly the stars of this episode, regardless of what cliffhanger we were left on at the end of the episode. Listening to Herrmann and Cindy renew their vows was so adorable, you could feel the adoration and love bursting through the screen. I am very much looking forward to seeing where they land in the next season.
We may have already seen Cruz and Chloe go through the parenting storyline but this twist was so nice to see. Even in a moment that very well could have been a lot of panic, they came together showing just how good of a couple they are. Although I hope they won’t have to name any more of their children after firefighters from 51 but based on how this episode ended I’m not sure we can count on that.
I have never really been much of a fan of the Stellaride adoption story but honestly if it ends up going that way with Isaiah I won’t be mad. I think they have such an incredible bond with him and they are definitely a family regardless of whether they adopt him or not. I do think that this call and what Isaiah said previous to it may help make up Severide’s mind on whether or not he joins OFI.
Regardless of who does or doesn’t make it out of this fire next season I do think there will be repercussions for Severide due to him leaving Pascal out the front whilst he went in. Pascal is no longer a Chief and even if everyone makes it out alive I can’t see it ending well when he shouldn’t have even been on scene, let alone running the scene.
Everyone’s lives are in danger going into the next season, I truly don’t know who may not make it out. I’m so excited to see how the house get out of the individual situations they are in at the top of the next season!
