Apple teases more launches this week after the new iPad mini

Apple has scheduled an event for this Wednesday, October 28, but it’s not waiting until then to announce new products. Today, it unveiled the new iPad mini, and according to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, that’s only the beginning.
In a post on X, Joswiak said “It’s going to be an exciting week”, one that starts with the iPad mini, and called the tablet “the biggest update ever to iPad mini”. In case you missed it, the new model has an 8.5-inch 1512×2316 OLED screen, the A20 Pro chipset, and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, all in a 5.4mm thin body.
It’s going to be an exciting week, and it starts with our all-new iPad mini.
Thinner and lighter than ever, with an OLED display, water and dust resistance, better audio, powered by A20 Pro… it’s the biggest update ever to iPad mini! https://t.co/myg4BtuKQD

So what else is coming? Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman points out that when Apple holds events on Wednesdays, it increasingly does so after three days of announcements. That’s also how it handled its March 4 event, which brought the MacBook Neo after several days of other launches. According to Gurman, the M6 iMac and MacBook Pro arriving tomorrow and the touchscreen MacBook Pro following on Wednesday “would make sense”.
That lines up with his earlier report that Apple will show off its touchscreen MacBooks this week, along with the OLED iPad mini and the M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac. Obviously, the exact schedule is still just an educated guess at this point, but we won’t have to wait long to find out.
