Paterson water main break leads to boil water advisory – NBC New York



A water main break in Paterson has prompted officials to issue a boil water advisory for the city.

According to the Passaic Valley Water Commission, the 30-inch water main break behind the famed Hinchcliffe Stadium.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.

Residents and businesses are asked to adhere to the advisory as a health precaution by boiling water before using it and/or using alternative water sources, like bottled water. (Water will be distributed to those impacted, according to city officials.)

A video posted to Instagram by Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh shows water gushing through a street.

According to city officials, the break is impacting other nearby towns like Prospect Park and North Haledon. The northside of Paterson is affected, while other wards of the city may see low water pressure.
