BRAND NEW DAY With New Promos and Practical Stunts — GeekTyrant

Marvel Studios and Sony are kicking the promotional campaign for Spider-Man: Brand New Day into high gear as the film races toward its July 31 release, and this is going to be one of the biggest movie events of the summer.

New promotional material has started rolling out, giving fans fresh glimpses of the movie while also pulling back the curtain on some of the practical stunt work that went into bringing Spider-Man’s latest adventure to life. It’s exactly the kind of marketing push you’d expect for a movie carrying this much anticipation.

The excitement surrounding the film has also sparked plenty of discussion about its box office prospects. Right now, Brand New Day is projected to open somewhere between $180 million and $250 million domestically.

That’s an impressive range, although it still trails the incredible $260.1 million opening weekend of Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021.

Those projections could still shift over the next week. Early audience reactions often play a major role, and fans won’t have to wait much longer. Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will allow social media reactions to hit online tonight on the evening of Monday, July 27, 2026, while the full review embargo lifts on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT.

That timing gives audiences just enough room to digest the first wave of reviews before Amazon Prime’s Exclusive Early Access screenings begin on Wednesday, July 29. If history is any indication, spoilers and plot leaks probably won’t stay contained for very long after those screenings begin.

One challenge Brand New Day faces has nothing to do with the movie itself. It won’t have access to IMAX screens during its launch because those premium auditoriums will be occupied by Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey. Missing out on those higher-priced ticket sales could make it a little tougher to chase the record-setting numbers posted by No Way Home.

Marvel also released the latest official synopsis, teasing where Peter Parker finds himself after the events of No Way Home:

“It’s a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.

With fresh marketing rolling out almost daily, new footage making the rounds, and a spotlight on the film’s practical stunt work, Marvel is making sure Brand New Day stays front and center as opening weekend approaches.

The countdown is almost over, and we’ll soon find out whether Spider-Man’s next chapter can swing its way into the upper tier of superhero box office history when Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026.
