BORN AGAIN Season 3 Wraps Production and Marvel Fans Think it Could Be the End After WONDER MAN Cancellation — GeekTyrant

Marvel Studios has officially finished filming Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, which should be a reason for fans to celebrate.

Instead, it’s sparked a wave of concern across the Marvel community, with many wondering if this could end up being the final season not only for Daredevil, but possibly for live-action Marvel television for the foreseeable future.

That anxiety didn’t come out of nowhere. The recent cancellation of Wonder Man Season 2 shocked a lot of fans because the series had previously been renewed.

That unexpected decision has people questioning what Marvel Studios’ long-term plans actually are. Add in the fact that there aren’t currently any live-action MCU shows scheduled after Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 arrives next year, and suddenly the speculation doesn’t seem all that far-fetched.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane confirmed production had officially wrapped with a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing:

“Sorry it took so long to say, but THAT’S A WRAP on production for Season 3 of Daredevil Born Again. Thank you to Marvel and the magnificent cast and crew that made this season something very, very, very special. I’m humbled daily by the talent I get to work with. Cannot wait for you to see what all these twisted minds have come up with. #BestCrewEver”

As exciting as that update is, fans immediately shifted the conversation toward what comes next. One fan shared their concern, saying: “I have a feeling this is the last season because S2 didn’t have as [many] viewers as S1 did… and after Wonder Man you never know.”

Others echoed the same feeling. “I really hope this season won’t be the last time we see everyone,” says someone else. “Man, please don’t be the last,” asks another fan.

Another person looked at the bigger picture, writing: “Crazy how it’s looking like Daredevil Born Again S3 will be the last season of live action Marvel television for a while… An end to a very interesting era in the MCU.”

The concern kept coming. “I hope it’s not the last one,” says another person. “Probably the final season,” predicts another person.

One fan even said they’d be okay with things ending here under one condition: “I think it’s gonna wrap up in the 3rd one, and honestly, as long as there’s something for the future of the Defenders and a big role in the next MCU movies, I’ll be satisfied.”

Honestly, these concerns feel completely legitimate. Marvel Studios hasn’t announced what’s next for its Disney+ live-action slate beyond Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, and VisionQuest, and after Wonder Man was unexpectedly scrapped, confidence has definitely taken a hit. Fans are trying to read the tea leaves, and right now there aren’t many positive signs.

The cancellation of Wonder Man still feels like one of the stranger decisions Marvel has made recently. Reports leading up to it suggested the show had already been renewed, only for Marvel to suddenly pull the plug.

It felt like a complete brain fart, and it’s understandable that fans are now wondering if that same kind of thinking could spill over into other projects.

Even Destin Daniel Cretton sounded disappointed when talking about the series’ fate, saying: “I love that show to death. If it were up to me, we would be making that show. And I do believe that if – and I know this sounds weird – but if it were up to Kevin [Feige], we would be doing that show.”

That comment makes the situation even more curious. If both the creative team and Kevin Feige reportedly wanted to continue the show, then who ultimately decided it shouldn’t move forward? Some executive at Disney?

As for Daredevil, there’s still no indication that Marvel intends to end the series after Season 3. At the same time, there’s also nothing confirming a fourth season or another wave of live-action Disney+ shows. That uncertainty is exactly why fans are getting nervous.

Hopefully, this is just a temporary pause while Marvel Studios figures out its next chapter. Daredevil: Born Again has become one of the studio’s strongest television series, and it would be a shame if this really ended up being Matt Murdock’s last ride on the small screen.

We’ll find out soon enough when Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 premieres next March. Until Marvel reveals what’s coming after that and VisionQuest, expect the speculation to keep growing.
